METAL DOM (USED AS KEY)

In the membrane switch, metal (domes) domes are used in the upper circuit layer, circuit when pressed, It is connected to the downstream circuit as a role of the switching function. It is made of ultra-thin stainless steel in thicknesses of 0.05 mm - 0.1 mm. It is flexible and can be printed over a million times. Mainly membrane used in switches. It has four advantages: strong continuity, stable rebound, excellent keypress feel and long life.

Use of metal domes:

1. With the help of the conductivity of the metal, it is connected to the two-pole contact of the switch.
2. The recoil of the metal dome can provide tactile feedback to the operator.

According to the shape, there are three main types ： Circle metal dome, Triangular metal dome and Four-legged metal dome. Erbağ Elektronik generally uses stainless steel four-legged domes. Technical specifications available on our site are 8.4, 10, 12, 14, 16mm. Metal dome selection should be large, not small. As possible It is better to use larger metal dome, but one should also be considered suitable for the design of your actual product. metal dome size is usually 10-12 mm recommended, it will be more convenient to press with a finger.

EMBOSSES (KEY TYPE)

Another kind of membrane switch button is an embossed silver pad with "embossing" process in the circuit layer, the silver pad of the button is pressed into a fixed spherical crown shape by a mold of the upper circuit, so that the position of the button switch is the guide effect and the material formed after deformation by embossing It has a certain flexibility, it does not break because the embossed raw material is of good quality and suitable for embossing. Also, the button will rebound after being pressed so the button has a good tactile feel. The operator can clearly feel the switch open and close.

It is also in contact with the subcircuit to ensure circuit conduction by pressing. The convexity of die pressing should use mold for bulk order, especially when the convex die needs to be specially customized. This can greatly increase production efficiency and stability of product quality.

Mold pressing size can be designed as 5 mm-11 mm, Erbağ Elektronik's recommended size is 8-10 mm. Button size will be more suitable for finger pressing.

LEDS & DESIGN EXPLANATIONS

According to the design requirements, LEDs can be installed in the circuit of membrane switches, and the LED light can indicate the operation of the product and the function of the button selection. Erbağ Elektronik can provide high quality LED colors, SMD Type is recommended The diameter of the LED window is generally around 3-4 mm.
